Could dr. Lynne Guitar help us out with an urgent question? For a final paper to become a translater in Belgium, we are desperately looking for a book in Spanish on former president Ballaguer (no precize title, any book would help, but it has to be on president Ballaguer and in Spanish since the subject was already communicated to the jury for the exam). We even had contact with a Dominican author who might send us a copy of one of her books, but till now, nothing arrived. The matter is becoming urgent, since the translation has to be finished half of August. We are prepared to cover the costs involved. Many thanks in advance

I get books in spanish from them.

If you do make the effort to look it up, it would be very nice of you to list the links in this thread. Els is certainly not the only one interested in this. Ballaguer, as I understand, must be one of the grandest politicians ever. He was already the right hand of the dictator Trujillo, and kept on leading this country for over 50 (or even 75) years.

As soon as a good book is out on him, I'd love to read it. I'd prefer in English but Spanish will do too.

An excellent book about Balaguer is:

_Memorias de un cortesano de la era de Trujillo_, written by Joaquin Balaguer himself and published in 1988 (newest edition is 2002) by editora Corripio in Santo Domingo.
